South Shore - Bull Shoals, Arkansas to Boat, Camp, Fish & Live
Welcome to the South Shore of Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas, our home in the spacious and beautiful Ozark Mountains. Our region lies along the south shore of giant Bull Shoals Lake, formed in the early 1950s when massive Bull Shoals Dam was built to help control White River basin flooding and to generate electricity.

South Shore attractions are natural - the scenic land, clean air, pure waters, and friendly people. Lakeside recreation areas with launching ramps provide lake access. Campers, fishermen, and families appreciate the excellent facilities of Bull Shoals-White River State Park and its new (2006) $5 million Visitor’s Center overlooking the dam, the lake, and river. On Crooked Creek near Yellville is a new (2005) environmental center, the Fred Berry Conservation Education Center. Just south is Buffalo National River Park with canoeing, camping, trail rides, and hiking trails all arrayed beneath towering bluffs. Come to enjoy the area, learn about our history, and stay for a visit or for a lifetime.
