Escape to Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park where you’ll find time to unwind, surrounded by the lush landscape, colorful vistas, and architectural treasures in our nine formal gardens, our 1887 Queen Anne-style mansion and in our Lord & Burnham greenhouse complex.

As a non-profit organization, Sonnenberg operates in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, relying solely on visitor admissions, memberships and donations, gift center sales and special events to preserve public access to the estate.

Delight in the international flavor of horticultural design envisioned by garden founder Mary Clark Thompson nearly 100 years ago, as you take in thousands of perennials, annuals and other plants on display across the grounds. For a literal taste of nature’s bounty, stop in at our Finger Lakes Wine Center, featuring an “Abundance” of vintages from more than 40 partner wineries throughout the region. Browse Sonnenberg’s gift shop for our history books, Sonnenberg photo and logo collectibles and a unique selection of gifts – many crafted by Finger Lakes artisans. Plan a wedding or reception on our elegant estate, or attend a variety of our special events, some with special discounts for members. Explore the many ways to support the work of preserving this historic treasure for the public, from volunteering to individual or business memberships, to sponsorships, special projects and more.

Sonnenberg is located minutes from Canandaigua Lake and just a short drive down the state Thruway, southeast of Rochester, in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

Come experience Sonnenberg for yourself!
