We have been staying very busy working for the lighthouse that this web site has suffered for many years from neglict.
Our group has merged with the Middle Bay Lighthouse Association and formed the Alabama Lighthouse Association to work toward saving all of Alabamas lighhouse as stewarding them.

The Lighthouse has stood guardian over Mobile Bay for over one hundred and twenty nine years.It is a beautiful and majestic structure towering over the Gulf of Mexico. Sand Island Lighthouse is located 3 miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama in the Gulf of Mexico. It was constructed by the renowned lighthouse builder Winslow Lewis in 1873.
