Each run has at least one layover city where you may shop for an hour or more. The train stops at each town long enough for passengers to get on and off the cars, usually 5 minutes. If you would like to tour one of the towns longer, you may catch the train back on its return trip, or even the next day (if scheduled to run that day). Our staff will let you know what time to catch the return train. Please make sure that the staff is aware of your plans so we can reserve you a seat.
Many attractions are within walking distance of the depots, while others require transportation. Some attractions may be able to provide transportation for their customers. The SAM Shortline does not provide shuttles to attractions.

Fare Structure
The SAM gift shop is open at 8:00 am on train ride days and open when the train returns. Gift shop is open 8:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Gift shop is closed at 12:00 noon on Wednesdays.
RESERVATIONS can be made online or by calling 1-877-GA-Railsfrom 8:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The reservation office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR PURCHASED TICKETS: Tickets are non-refundable. Passengers may call 72 hours in advance of ride date to transfer to a different ride date, upon availability.
