THE LEGEND OF GEYSER FALLS

For generations there have been stories about a hidden place deep in the woods where water bubbled to the surface in strange and wonderful ways; where a great river flowed in a circle; where water gushed forth from a mountain top cascading down into crystal clear pools; where the earth would rumble and mountains of water would well up in a serene lake; and where Mother Earth would blow great plumes of steam into the air. It was said this place was filled with magic.

Afo first heard these stories from his grandfather, and now he told the same stories to the children in the village. Afo believed in the legend of this special place and for many, many years he had been searching trying to find it. One late summer afternoon he was driving deep in the woods when the sky suddenly became dark as clouds from a quickly moving storm covered the sun. Afo had never been to this part of the woods, and the sudden onset of darkness caused him to lose his way. As the sky crackled with lightning and torrents of rain fell to the ground, Afo realized his car was rolling down a steep, muddy path leading to a rocky gully that would soon be filled with raging storm waters. It was too late to stop, so he stomped on the gas peddle and held on tight as he and his car flew over the gully to escape the wrath of the river. Then everything went black.

When Afo awoke the next morning he was lying in a warm pool of water where he had been thrown from his car. He looked around and saw the gully and realized he had made it across. Then he saw his car. It was resting on top of one of the many geysers in this beautiful valley. Standing up, Afo realized the soothing waters had nearly healed all of his cuts, bumps and bruises. Everywhere he looked there were natural wonders to behold: Geysers, waterfalls, bubbling springs, a crystal-blue lake, and all in a lush, green forest. "The water here has healing powers," he thought. "It must be magic!"

At that moment Afo knew what to do. He would collect the water and take it back to the village so others in the tribe could benefit from its healing powers. Afo worked long and hard each day building machines to capture and channel the water. But each day he would notice the forest animals playing in the water. He saw raccoon floating in the river; bear splashing in the geysers; and rabbit and squirrel sliding down the troughs and pipes he'd built. It looked like great fun, so Afo decided to give it a try, and with each passing day he discovered new ways to jump in and enjoy the water; new ways to laugh; and new ways to have fun and feel good.

As the years passed, Afo came to believe he had found that magical, hidden place in the woods…the place described in the stories he'd heard as a child. So, instead of taking the water to his people, Afo decided to bring his people to the water…to the place he called GEYSER FALLS…so they, too, could experience the same joy and fun of splashing, sliding, floating and swimming in the magic waters. And, as a special "thank you" to the animals and as a gift to the children, Afo created Lil' Squirts Hollow…a place just for little ones to play, have fun and make their own special brand of magic.

This once secret, hidden valley of natural wonders is now a place for the whole family to enjoy. All are welcome at GEYSER FALLS where you'll quench your thirst for fun and "wet" your appetite for enjoying life to the fullest.
