A visit to the Appaloosa Museum
The museum's modern facility includes a newly expanded exhibit area; a theater; a hands-on Kid's Area; a library featuring books, magazines, and videos; and a large gift shop. Exhibits themes range from the early evidence of spotted horses in art and literature, to the relationship between the Appaloosa and the Nez Perce Indians, to the highlights of the modern Appaloosa Horse Club. We look forward to the opening of our new live Appaloosa outdoor exhibit in the summer of 2006.

Education Programs
The Appaloosa Museum welcomes school groups, home-schoolers, and youth groups such as 4H and scouts. Our standard program lasts around one hour and includes a short lecture followed by an exploration of the museum in small groups where students answer questions that help them delve into the history, present and future of the Appaloosa horse. Part of the program is a chance to sit on several types of saddles including a sidesaddle. We are also most willing to tailor a program to meet your specific needs. All children's programs are free, however a donation of $1 per person to help cover the cost of programming would be appreciated. Please contact the museum for more information.
